Last two years, at Ayneh we have really struggled to find a stable place to meet up, watch a good movie, enjoy each other's presence and engage in our witty debates about cinema, the world today and the awkwardness of being trapped in our imperfect, mortal forms. While some new opportunities might arise, for now,  I say let's enjoy some evenings of cinematic and social delights in our own living rooms!

  • Basically, anybody can host an Ayneh Evening. Just fill in the form below, mentioning if you would also like to moderate the discussion, how many people you are willing to accommodate for around 4 hours and, crucially, on what dates you are available to do so. Recently we have met mostly on Sunday Evenings, between 6 and 10 PM, but there is no reason why we can't break this tradition.
  • Once enough locations are arranged I will post another form, asking for people to join as participants, to any one of a number of available slots. It would be groovy if we could at times bridge the space between our cities, with simultaneous screening in Amsterdam or Groningen, where we could enjoy a day trip to each others' urban outposts. We could also, if the technical infrastructure permits, change join the discussions via video-call.
  • Check the film list for inspiration. They are important movies that we never got to see in Ayneh and also some more recent additions that I found fit perfectly with our club. Regardless, Edit the doc if you have any other film suggestions.
